If the SBL Cup winners win that match they then are holders of both The SBL Cup and The Taylor Trophy. If they lose, they then remain the holders of The SBL Cup for the following twelve months and the winners retain The Taylor Trophy. Whoever are the holders of The Taylor Trophy are exempt from The SBL Cup for the forthcoming season.

As last year, another hard fought, high standard match between Masters and Cam Gears A, won 4 - 2 by Masters.
